St. Petersburg College: A Legacy of Leadership Exhibit

St. Petersburg Celebrates Dr. Carl KuttlerThe St. Petersburg Museum of History is celebrating St. Petersburg College’s extraordinary academic and financial accomplishments under the 30 year leadership of President Carl M. Kuttler, Jr. An exhibit opening at the Museum of History on Sunday, Sept. 28th will honor the legacy of SPC and Dr. Kuttler, with the St. Petersburg College: A Legacy of Leadership exhibit. Also, join Bay News 9 News Anchor, Jen Holloway on September 27, from 6pm until 10pm at a $100 per person barbecue museum fundraiser at the Farley Mansion in conjunction with the exhibit opening.

Under Dr. Kuttler’s leadership, this now 81 year old college became the first community college in the state to offer four-year degrees. It is now a model for a new state college system.

One gallery in the exhibit will focus on Kuttler’s contributions to the college, from his time as a student to his 30-year tenure as president. It will also highlight the areas in which Kuttler and the college have been leaders: in international friendships with Russia, China and countries in Central and South America. The exhibit will showcase the college’s cultural partnerships including the development of the Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art, acquisition of the Palladium Theater, through education and technology initiatives.

Please call the Museum of History to RSVP for the barbecue fundraiser by September 17th at (727) 894-1052, ext. 200. Visit www.spmoh.org for more information on this upcoming exhibit.
