The St. Petersburg Museum of History is planning a highly anticipated portrait unveiling of Florida’s 44th Governor, Charlie Crist.  St. Petersburg’s hometown hero, Crist will make an appearance at the Museum of History, on Saturday, June 23rd at 4 PM for this special occasion. A brief program will follow.  His portrait will be displayed in the lobby of the Museum. This event is free to the public.

Crist was born on July 24, 1956 in Altoona, Pennsylvania. He later moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, where he attended Riviera Middle School and graduated from St. Petersburg High School (1974). Later, he received his undergraduate degree from Florida State University. Crist received his law degree from the Cumberland School of Law in Alabama.

Rutland Bussey, the Museum’s President of the Board of Trustees states, “I’m just thrilled to see one of St. Pete’s own being honored at the Museum. Governor Crist’s charisma and the Museum’s tradition of excellence together make for a winning combination to help bring attention to local residents like Charlie who have contributed to the overall efforts of building our community of St. Petersburg.”
